BBL® Hero™ (BroadBand Light) is the gold standard in phototherapy, setting a new benchmark for treating skin conditions associated with aging, sun damage, and an active lifestyle.

This next-generation Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment is not a laser; instead, it uses a broad range of light wavelengths to target pigment and redness with unmatched speed and precision.
Groundbreaking research from Stanford University has shown that BBL treatments can restore the gene expression pattern of aged skin to resemble that of young skin, effectively rejuvenating it at a molecular level. With the advanced HERO™ (High Energy Rapid Output) platform, treatments are now faster, more comfortable, and more effective than ever before.
At Boutiq Medical Clinic, we harness the power of BBL® Hero™ to help our patients achieve clear, youthful, and evenly toned skin. Located in Orlando, we proudly serve patients from Winter Park, Maitland, Altamonte Springs, Apopka, and Lake Mary, and throughout Orange, Seminole, and Osceola counties.

BBL® Hero™ is the world's most powerful Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) device, designed to deliver comfortable and effective treatments for a wide range of skin concerns.
It is crucial to understand that BBL is not a laser. While lasers use a single, focused wavelength of light to target a specific issue, BBL uses a broad spectrum of light. This allows your provider to use interchangeable smart filters to customize the wavelength and target multiple conditions, such as red and brown pigment, in a single pass.
The advanced HERO™ platform elevates this technology by enabling rapid, continuous movement across the skin, making treatments four times faster than traditional BBL. It also features three times the peak power for even more effective results and twice the cooling capacity, which keeps the skin's surface cool and ensures an exceptionally comfortable, pain-free experience.

Personalized, Patient-First Approach
BBL® Hero™ has revolutionized the field of phototherapy, offering a superior alternative to older IPL devices and filling a different role than laser resurfacing treatments.
Its ability to quickly and comfortably treat both red and brown pigment without downtime makes it a foundational treatment for skin rejuvenation. This makes it an ideal choice for patients seeking noticeable, long-lasting improvements in skin tone and clarity, while enjoying a comfortable treatment experience with little to no downtime.
While fractional lasers like Moxi or CO2 are designed to improve skin texture by resurfacing the skin, BBL® Hero™ focuses on correcting color and pigment irregularities. For this reason, BBL and Moxi are often combined in a single treatment session to provide a comprehensive, “home run” result that addresses both pigment and texture simultaneously.
| Treatment | Primary Target | Mechanism of Action | Best For |

Treatment Overview

Your Initial Consultation
Your BBL® Hero™ journey starts with a thorough consultation with one of our expert medical providers. We will perform a comprehensive skin analysis using advanced diagnostic tools, discuss your specific concerns and goals, and review your medical history to ensure BBL is a safe and appropriate treatment for you.
This is a crucial step where we will determine the optimal settings and filters for your unique skin condition. We will provide a detailed treatment plan, explain the expected outcomes, and answer all your questions so you can proceed with confidence.
Preparing for Your Treatment
To ensure a safe and effective BBL treatment, it is critical to avoid sun exposure before your appointment.
One Week Prior
Discontinue the use of retinoids (Retin-A), alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), and any other potentially photosensitizing skincare products.
Avoid taking blood-thinning medications or supplements like aspirin, ibuprofen, or fish oil, if medically permissible.
48 Hours Prior
Avoid alcohol.
Stay well-hydrated.
24 Hours Prior
Do not apply any makeup, lotions, or creams to the treatment area.
Day of Treatment
Arrive at the clinic with a clean, makeup-free face.
Ensure there is no residual sunless tanner on the skin.
What to Expect During Treatment
During your BBL® Hero™ treatment, you will be given protective eyewear to wear. A cool gel will be applied to the treatment area to enhance light absorption and keep your skin comfortable. Your provider will then glide the BBL handpiece across your skin. You will feel a quick, warm sensation with each pulse of light, similar to a rubber band snap. Thanks to the HERO™ platform's advanced cooling technology, the procedure is very well-tolerated. A full-face treatment can be completed in as little as 15-30 minutes.
Risks and Side Effects
BBL® Hero™ is a very safe procedure with minimal side effects when performed by a trained medical professional. The most common and expected side effect is the darkening of pigmented spots in the treated area. These darkened spots, often called “coffee grounds,” will rise to the surface and flake off on their own within 7-14 days, revealing the clear, even-toned skin underneath.
You may also experience mild redness and a slight sunburn sensation for a few hours after the treatment. More serious side effects like blistering or scarring are extremely rare, especially when proper pre- and post-care instructions, particularly sun avoidance, are followed.
How Much Does BBL Laser Treatment Cost in Orlando?
The cost of your BBL® Hero™ treatment will depend on the size and number of areas being treated, as well as the number of sessions in your personalized plan. A detailed and transparent price quote will be provided during your initial consultation. For optimal correction of sun damage and pigment issues, a series of 3 to 4 sessions, spaced 4-6 weeks apart, is typically recommended. We offer package pricing for a full series to provide the best value and ensure you can achieve the transformative results BBL® Hero™ is known for.
